2016 Sustainability Year in Review
Welcome to the first edition of The Footprint Review, EKU's very own sustainability newsletter! Last year we accomplished a great deal of progress making EKU a more environmentally conscious institution. From the success of the #EKULocal Festival, to the completion of EKU's Climate Action & Resiliency Plan, we've made tremendous strides toward implementing EKU's Strategic Sustainability Plan and reducing our overall footprint. With your help, we are confident that 2017 will be even better! Check out some of the highlights from 2016 below, and look to the right for a list of the many exciting events we have planned for this semester.
Ever wonder what happens to waste that ends up in the environment? Hint: It doesn't disappear. Click here to watch EKU's stormwater awareness video.
One Step Closer to Carbon Neutrality
We are very pleased to announce that EKU has recently completed an in-depth Climate Action and Resiliency Plan. The development of this plan was put into motion when President Benson signed the Second Nature Climate Commitment in October 2015. As a result, EKU now has a detailed comprehensive plan to reach carbon neutrality by 2036. Click here to read the plan!
