Dean Boyce, Columbia Engineering Faculty Collaborate With Cornell Engineering to Present Recommendations for Major Subway Renovation

Their recommendations included a series of innovative engineering methods to streamline the required repair work and limit the impact on L Train service.

In a study published in Nature, biomedical engineering professor Nandan Nerurkar worked with colleagues at Harvard to shed new light on a critical step in early embryonic development.

STUDENT HIGHLIGHTS

The annual Electrical Engineering Expo showcased a wide range of talented Columbia Engineering master's students, in fields spanning the internet of things, deep learning, and optics.
Three teams of Columbia student innovators jet off to Mumbai in January for ten days of workshops, site visits, client discovery, and sessions with Indian colleagues as finalists in Columbia Engineering’s Urban Works Innovation Challenge.
Recently, an interdisciplinary group of students added a new reading group, “Art in the Age of Algorithms,” to the list of initiatives connecting art, technology, and engineering.
In the lab, biomedical engineer Michael Sutton MS'18 PhD'22 works to alleviate debilitating illnesses stemming from low bone mass. In the bigger picture, as both scientist and advocate, he's striving to build the bones of a more inclusive society.

Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES) is inviting all undergraduate students to a career panel featuring Alumni of Columbia’s Biomedical Engineering department to explore the diversity of career paths available after graduating with a degree in biomedical engineering! Come hear from and connect with professionals with experience in fields not limited to: biopharmaceuticals, biotechnology (R&D), research in academia (PhD) and Life Science consulting! Food will be served! 

BMES is currently looking for BME alumni panelists and would love to hear about your experiences after graduation as a panelist at this event. Would you be interested in answering questions from a moderator, and then individually, during a casual networking session for a total of an hour?

The event will be located at Lerner hall at Columbia's Morningside campus. Our tentative dates for the event are:
