A Note from the Dean
Our March 26 masterclass with David Enlow on Ways with Hymns: Harmonizations, Interludes and Improvisation was both fun and informative. An enthusiastic group gathered at the Irvington Presbyterian Church and left with a wealth of ideas to use on Sunday mornings and other occasions. Below is a picture of David with the group.
Two months ago, I offered the opportunity for our membership to respond to a short survey that will be used by the board in planning next year's programs. We wish to thank those of you who took the time to respond. The results are in... AGO Exam Expert was ranked highest, followed by the Children's Choir Seminar, Gregorian Chant and, finally, Organ Refurbishment. Other ideas offered were a concert with a noted organist and a seminar on organist/clergy relations. The board meets this month to plan next year's program and will undoubtedly use your feedback in its preparations and discussions.
Watch for news in the next few days from our nominating committee regarding officer elections. Your input and help are needed.
Finally, please mark your calendar and plan on attending our Annual Meeting and Dinner on May 23. We will gather at Sam's of Gedney Way again this year, as everyone present last year enjoyed the outdoor setting and delicious food. We expect this year's gathering to be just as well received, so plan to join us as we finish out our season.
