remarks at 1 p.m.
This exhibition features my Exquisite Corpse inspired large scale scroll works on paper (like the ones pictured above - Mineral Falconry, Surface Tension, Lui Aussi, Natural Colour from 2012), other works on canvas and paper from 2014, and two from my most recent series of cut and combined paintings of found selfies, from 2016.
Magnetic Line of Force, a title taken from one of the pieces in the show, is also "an imaginary concept that provides a very useful way to not only represent but also to define the properties of the magnetic field being evaluated." Using imaginary concepts to explore things that are unseen could describe my art making process and also much of our interactions as humans in this magical world.
In this series, I titled the works from bits of the collage material, scraps of text that appeared in the piece by chance, embracing chaos and chance which could also be a way to describe my art making process and so much of our life on planet earth.
Special thanks to Victoria Strole for her curatorial assistance.
