Volunteers Needed: Video Editing and Social Media Marketing

One positive of our new normal is we have Zoom recordings and can build a content library!  To realize this project we need a volunteer(s) who can confidently edit 1 or 2 hour+ long videos each month.

If you have a professional background with marcom/social media marketing we could use your help to expand awarness thorugh social media channels.  As a voluneer you would edit post content, create images in Canva Pro, and manage schedule for 2 - 6 posts per month.

If you have the skills to help FOCUS expand our content PLEASE email TODAY!

Each month we post a few suggested resources sourced from our experience, our global network of educational and mental health experts, and our member community.  If you have a resource (book, website, video) suggestion that you have found helpful please CLICK and SHARE

"No one is born with executive function skills - you learn them

This short video "How Children and Adults Can Build Core Capabilities for Life" from the Center on the Developing Child at Harvard University gives a science-based explanation of "executive function."  Good resource for parents and educational professionals.

How to ADHD - "Neurodiversity University"

This youtube channel on living with ADHD is a fantastic (and addictive) resource for young (and older) adults and those who love them. Creator Jessica McCabe is not a professional; she's an "ADHD brain" who's turned her "deficit" into a business.  She explains, shows empathy, and suggests self-help strategies in funny, fast-paced, and factually-accurate videos.  A FOCUS favorite!

EF for Educators, Medical Professionals and Parents

Dr. Thomas E. Brown, clinical psychologist, former Associate Director of the Yale Clinic for Attention & Related Disorders, award winning researcher, and author, of more than 30 scientific articles and 6 books on ADHD; is a "must read" resource for medical or mental health professionals seeking better understanding of the role of executive function in ADHD, medication management, and ADHD diagnosis.  His website offers a wealth of resources for both professionals and parents.

FOCUS is a Hong Kong-based non-profit whose members include parents, educators, counsellors and medical professionals.  We are a volunteer-led organization whose “FOCUS” is to positively influence the quality of education and support available to students with ADHD and specific learning difficulties (SpLD), and to improve understanding of how these mainstream learning differences impact youth both emotionally and academically.
