Welcome Terri!
Next time you're in the library drop in and say hi to Terri Stoner, our new library clerk.  Terri grew up in North Carolina, and went to school in Virginia before settling with us here in New Jersey.  Her association with libraries and education began in college where she worked at the library there before moving on to a career in IT.  For the past several years she has volunteered at a local middle school as well.  When it comes to reading, Terri's favorite genre is thrillers, so she can probably give you some great recommendations.

We are THRILLED that Terri has joined the RVCC Library family.

Magazines Galore

We have 80 print magazines in our periodicals area!  Including a few new additions like The Sun, and People en español.  Grab a magazine and sit in our soft seating area while you catch up on the latest in gossip, trends, or science.  Every magazine you see is actually on a secret shelf that can be lifted.  Behind it you'll find back issues so you don't have to go far at all to keep digging.

Got recommendations for new titles that we should add?  Let us know:  reference@raritanval.libanswers.com

Hanging Indents

Many students have been coming
to the library for help figuring out how to make those pesky hanging indents in their works cited pages.  Thankfully, Library Department Chair Megan Dempsey made a video for that explaining how it's done.  Please share with your students.  The video can be found here:  https://youtu.be/pLMAf32D7z8 or on any of our social media platforms.
Resolve to Read

As 2018 approaches many people think about New Year's Resolutions.  How about resolving to read more?!  We have many great selections for you at our Resolve to Read display and another 70,000 books give or take upstairs as well.

Or if none of those are of interest to you, try signing up for a reading challenge with GoodReads.  It's a fun way to keep track of what books you've read and when you complete a challenge you are told how many pages you've read, how popular were the books you've read, and other fun facts.

Keep your eyes on GoodReads for the release of the 2018 Reading Challenge!
Special Hours

Make sure you check the library calendar before you pop in to the library.  We are closed during winter recess and have special hours before the spring semester starts.  Check before you trek.
