Spring into 2018
They're baaaaaaaack!  But don't worry.  The RVCC Library is still here to help you with all of your needs.  Whether you're an administrator, staff, or faculty; part-time or full-time, we have something for you.  Great reads, great information literacy instruction, and great spaces.  Click the links below to learn more about what we can do...

...for Faculty and Staff
...for Students
...for Community Members

There's Still Time!

There's still time to sign up your classes for information literacy instruction!  To quote the American Library Association, "information literacy is a set of abilities requiring individuals to recognize when information is needed and have the ability to locate, evaluate, and use effectively the needed information."  There isn't a discipline on campus that doesn't use those skills, so take advantage of our expertise.  Let us show your students how to maximize their information seeking, understand when (and when not) to use Google, and how to avoid fake news.  Our information scientists are on standby.

Library Open House

Learn how the RVCC Library can serve you! Games, prizes, FREE food, and more.  Earn raffle tickets by participating in any of our games and activities listed below.  Place the raffle tickets in front of the prizes you most want to win.  You choose! Prizes so far include books, a drone, and wireless headphones.

Student-Led Tours
Our very own RVCC Student Ambassadors will personally walk you through our library telling you about our materials, services, and programs.  Tours are on demand, so drop in anytime.  Y

Orientation Sessions
At the top of every hour (1:00, 2:00, and 3:00) you can sit down and relax in the Library Classroom to learn even more about who is who in the library and how we can make your life and work easier.  Orientations will be provided by our Outreach Librarian, Carina Gonzalez.

Social Media Pic Contest
Feel free to take pics while you're in the library.  Use the hashtag #rvcclibrary on
instagram or twitter and you can earn a raffle ticket!  Tickets go to the winners of one of three categories:  funniest pic, most abstract pic, and most school spirit.

Scavenger Hunt
Think you know the RVCC Library?  Think again.  Our Scavenger Hunt will show you parts of the library you didn't even know existed.  Fun, informative, and will even earn you a raffle ticket!

Information Stations
Our librarians will be ready to teach you about specific parts of the library including our electronic resources,
recursos en español, behind the scenes info, and much more.  And each station earns you another raffle ticket!
