Want to go OER?  Librarians can help!
If you are ready to give OER a try, the RVCC librarians are here to help.  Here are some ways we can help you get started.

Searching
Librarians are information scientists and searching experts.  They can help you find and evaluate current, relevant, and high-quality OER.

Curating
Once you have found all of the information you would like to include in your course, it can feel overwhelming to collect and organize all of it.  Our librarians can help maintain subject-based guides to help your students find the information they need when they need it.

Access
Information comes in many different forms, not all of which is accessible to all audiences.  The RVCC librarians can help you implement universal design into your OER to make your content access truly equitable.

Copyright
Navigating intellectual property rights can be confusing.  Let our librarians help you research what exactly you can and cannot do with the resources you find for your course.

Creation
Sometimes the best OER is the one you create from scratch.  From video creation to web design, we have librarians who can help you create content that is designed just for you and your students.

Listening
There's nothing like a brainstorm session to spark ideas.  Sit down with a librarian and share your intentions.  We can help you untangle your thoughts and focus them into clear research actions.

Summer Reading

The RVCC Library will once again be hosting a summer reading program for the entire community.  New this year will be the ability to participate without physically coming to the library!  More information coming soon.
One Book Resources

The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas is RVCC's chosen One Book for 2018-2019 academic year.  There is now a central location where you can learn all about RVCC's community-wide read (library.raritanval.edu/onebook) as well as a special section of educator resources just for those professors planning on integrating The Hate U Give into their courses.  Need help?  Just contact a librarian.

Summer Library Hours

The Spring 2018 semester is almost over.  Please make sure and check the library website library.raritanval.edu to make sure we are open when you think we are.  Our hours change during the summer months.
