We have had a busy February, and we are ready for all that March is bringing to our way!
This past February, we successfully presented our workshop "Inclusion vs. Accessibility: Supporting Deaf and Hard of Hearing Corps Members" to the Corps Network National Conference attendees. And we also accepted the Project of the Year award for the Young Adult ASL Inclusion Crew on behalf of Northwest Youth Corps.
We have moved into a new office space located on H Street NE Washington, DC. It is conveniently located near to Gallaudet University and the new REI east coast flagship store, which has allowed us to continue working hard for the Deaf, Outdoor and Corps Community!
March started off with a bang! Presenting to Maryland School for the Deaf High School students about youth job opportunities outdoors this summer. Attending the Gallaudet University Job fair on March 6th and then traveling up to Rochester Institute of Technology where we had a full day of meetings with professors, faculty and students sharing with them all the opportunities to work in the outdoors with Vermont Youth Conservation Corps, Northwest Youth Corps and Conservation Corps of Minnesota.
Missed us at Gallaudet or RIT? Please check out all the job opportunities below! Or feel free to request us to come visit your school, workplace or community to present about summer job opportunities, accessibility vs. inclusion, women in the trades or even different environmental conservation techniques!
Wherever your adventures take you this spring, we hope you are staying warm or cool!
