Let go of the Stress and Tap into your Life!

What is Healing?

I have been reflecting on this question during the past few months - what is healing?  What does healing mean to me?
I believe we experience physical dis-ease, mental dis-ease, emotional dis-ease and even spiritual dis-ease.  

We are not always at ease - life is not always easy for us.
We struggle.  We suffer. We fear.  Because of the dis-ease we experience in our lives - whether it is physical, emotional or mental.

So is it disease that needs healing or is disease a symptom?  
The physical, mental and emotional symptoms cause the suffering (or the struggle) but are they the true cause?  
When we treat the symptoms, do we actually heal the disease?  Do we get to the root cause by treating our symptoms?

I believe healing takes place in our understanding, in our perception, in the meaning we give our experiences.  The body believes and will follow what we hold in our minds (both conscious and unconscious).  So it’s important to be aware of the beliefs that we are holding onto underneath it all - what do we really feel about our situations, our relationships, our health, ourselves? (I find it useful to start this process by thinking about the situation and noticing the physical sensations that come up.  Then as you focus on the physical sensations, turn your awareness to the emotions and feelings that come up - then just notice what thoughts and beliefs stem from those feelings.  I find this works better than just going straight to your mind - the mind can hide all sorts of things but the body doesn’t lie ❤️).

What I found out is that I don’t see “healing” as “fixing something that is broken” - instead I see “healing” as an opportunity to choose a way of seeing an experience (past, present or futur) in a heart-centered way.  And this allow for integrity, growth, expansion, awareness,   Healing allows us to notice the “lack” and to replace it with understanding, compassion, acceptance and love.

When understood this way, healing is then about making your life better - it becomes an opportunity to let go of dis-ease and turn it into a life of ease.
