Our toddler families are gathering on Sunday. All toddlers, anyone who has yet to toddle, and their parents are invited to playtime at the Brentwood Park (west end of Webster Ave.) on August 27 after Coffee Hour (Rain plan—at the Rectory). Bring something to eat, if you'd like, and feel free to bring your pool pass (if you don't have one, bring a few bucks to get in). And if you prefer to avoid getting wet, that's fine, too--the playground is great. For more information about our toddler group, email the Rev. Cn. Heather Melton.
We will bless all of our students and teachers in worship on September 10 at 10:30 am. Please join us for our inaugural Blessing of the Backpacks! This is a great opportunity to invite friends and neighbors to join us at All Saints' Church. You can find a flyer for the event here or here to print out and share with friends.
Fall Schedule returns on September 10. Church will start at 10:30 am!
Our school supply drive continues. We are gathering supplies for local elementary school students who otherwise would not have any. A list of suggestions can be found on this Amazon wishlist, but please shop wherever is convenient. Please bring items to church, ship them here, or drop them off during the week. You may also make an additional offering to cover costs. Please note “school supplies” in the memo line of your check. We will gather supplies through Sept. 10. We discussed this earlier in the summer here.
The Harrison Food Pantry feeds around 120 families in our community. We are building on our strong tradition of supporting the food pantry by collecting particularly needed food items through the year. Until mid-September, we will be collecting peanut butter! Please bring a jar or a few jars to church. Likewise, feel free to make an extra offering, indicating “food pantry” in the memo line of the check. Thank you for your generosity! We discussed this earlier in the summer here.
Want to sing more? This year, our choir will gather during the offertory to sing unsung gems from our hymnals. Rehearsals begin on September 10, at 10 am. Please join us for one week or more! You can even sit with your family during church. If you would also like to join us for festival Sundays, we will rehearse in the Choir Room after church. Please contact Sara Della Posta for more information.
United Thank Offering blue boxes are available at the rear of the church. Please take a blue box and join in this spiritual discipline of gratitude. You are encouraged to stop at the end of the day and reflect on what you have to be grateful for—and to make a small donation as a token of thanks to God. We will collect blue boxes on September 24, when we celebrate the birthday of UTO founder Julia Chester Emery. You can learn more about Julia Chester Emery, and the birthday party across the church, here.
