At this time of year as the Solstice approaches I am happy to share with you the signature NEW MOTHER GIFT PACKAGE and practices to increase inner light.
Soon it will be the winter solstice in the Northern Hemisphere, where it is the shortest day of the year and in the Southern Hemisphere, it is the summer solstice and the longest day of the year. In both hemispheres it is LIGHT that is effecting us, as we either experience the least amount of light in the day or the most amount of light.
Whether you are in the Northern or Southern hemisphere it is not only the sunlight in question but the light in our minds and hearts.
We have been bombarded with relentless shocking events that are both literally and figuratively kicking up dust and blurring our vision making it hard to see clearly. At this time when the events in our personal lives and within the global collective, can leave us feeling depleted, unsure, anxious or worried we must increase the light available to us at all times.

How can we illuminate our lives?
For each of us this will look differently. So let's all abandon ideas of what 'should be' and think about what our ideal way of being in the world is. For some it may mean more solitude, time in nature, stillness and alone time to process and integrate all that has been swirling. For others it may mean even more socializing, embracing all opportunities for connection and belonging.
For every woman each ' birth plan' will look different and so will every 'life plan'. In birth a scheduled cesarean may fit some women, unassisted will be the goal for others, and still more will want something in between with the freedom and flexibility to change. As we enter this season that is calling for more light, from the Solstice , to the miracle of Lights at Hanukah and Christmas tree lights, we are called to increase the light within us.
Here are ways to feel lighter- they are all also ways to increase OXYTOCIN:
SLEEP - for new mothers this can be so difficult but restorative yoga like yoga nidra and active resting are just as beneficial as sleep, take time every day to REST, to get off of your feet and close your eyes.
WARMTH- wrap yourself in a blanket, take a warm bath, sit in the sunshine, drink warm tea and eat warming replenishing foods
TOUCH -touch is so important, receive a massage, indulge in a pedicure, hug a friend, be intimate, snuggle a pet, wear your baby, give yourself a scalp massage, rub your body with oils.
