IMPORTANT CHANGE TO OUR UNIFORM POLICY
Starting with the 2018-19 school year, Eliot-Hine students will wear the same color for all three years. This reduces the need for uniform re-purchasing every year. For next year, the uniform colors are as follows
8th Grade Promotion is June 7th at 6pm.
Last day of school is June 15th. Please pick up your medications from the nurse by this date.
On June 12th selected rising 6th and 7th-grade students will travel to Six Flags for a day of learning and FUN.
If you have not enrolled for SY 18 - 19 please join us for breakfast on Thursday, June 14th at 8:15 am9:30 am.
Students should have their lockers cleaned by Thursday, June 14th.
Capitol Hill Community Foundation Grant Awards
As part of the Capitol Hill Community Foundation's history of supporting our schools, we're pleased to announce that both of the seasonal grant applications that we submitted this Spring were successful. We have been awarded $1,900 to support Ms. Gueye's upcoming Photography elective class in the coming school year, and we were granted $2,200 to help fill the shelves of our classroom libraries. This grant for classroom libraries will essentially be matched with the money that we raised in our very successful Basketball Fever community event on May 10, so all of our students should have some great books to choose from in their ELA classes next year.
DC Public Schools (DCPS) Leadership is looking for parents and community members to serve on advisory boards to inform and guide the implementation of policies and initiatives over the 2018-2019 School Year. Find out more here.

Know a teacher who is looking to work at our school?
Eliot-Hine is hiring for the following positions for next year:
Now's the time to send these little guys in. Tell grandma and friends and neighbors to clip and save -- each one is worth 10 cents cash! There's a collection can in the office.
Fundraisers to Support Eliot-Hine
French Toast - uniforms; enter code for our school to get donation back
Lands' End - uniforms; enter Preferred School number 900183518 (you can look it up, too) to get donation back
Amazon Smile - if you shop at Amazon.com, access the site through smile.amazon.com and select Eliot-Hine PTO as your charity. Amazon donates .5% to your charity of choice for eligible items, which doesn't sound like much, but we earn over $100/year with this program. Getting out-of-town family to sign up is easy, too.
Boxtops - if you see a pink Boxtop symbol on your cereal or snackbars or ziploc bags, cut it out and turn it in to the Main Office. We get $0.10 for every Boxtop when we turn them in twice a year.
