2017 Rangeland Cup St. George
Multiple candidates for local and national political offices have proposed transferring the management of federal lands to the states in which those lands occur. If such a transfer of responsibility were to take place, there are potential broad-reaching impacts on rangelands and the communities that depend upon them.
- Describe how such a transfer would affect multiple-use rangelands from an ecological perspective.
- Discuss the potential socio-economic impacts that this would have on a) rural communities and b) large metropolitan areas in the western U.S.
Use logic and literature to support your arguments. Give appropriate credit for any information you use that was generated by others.

2017 SRM Endowment Fund Silent Auction
The Endowment Fund Development Committee requests your participation in the 2017 Silent Auction. In Corpus Christi last year, over $2,400 was raised for the Endowment Fund by auctioning over 75 items. As the Endowment Fund grows, it contributes greater amounts to SRM’s programs and operations. The 2017 goal is to raise $5,000 by auctioning items that SRM members contribute; so bring items to donate to the Auction. Also plan to bid and take something home to commemorate the Red Rock and Rangelands SRM Meeting. The Silent Auction will start with the opening of the Trade Show.
For information on the 2017 SRM Silent Auction contact Clarke McClung at cmcclung@bresnan.net or call 307-751-7846.
