The Senate Committee on Education heard a panel presentation on how Florida’s State Universities and State Colleges are achieving student success and meeting the state’s workforce needs. 

The panel included Marshall Criser, Chancellor of the State University System, and Kathy Hebda, Chancellor of the Florida College System. The Chancellors gave overview presentations of the accomplishments of their systems including national rankings, student success, research, and alignment with workforce needs.

The panel also included four State University Presidents and four Florida College Presidents.  Each President gave a presentation that highlighted the strengths, unique characteristics, and accomplishments of their institutions.  The Presidents presenting were:

• Alexander Cartwright, President, University of Central Florida
• Pamela Chally, President, University of North Florida
• Mike Martin, President, Florida Gulf Coast University
• Angela Falconetti, President, Polk State College
• Madeline Pumariega, President, Miami Dade College
• Devin Stephenson, President, Northwest Florida State College
• Tonjua Williams, President, St. Petersburg State College
