Columbus High School, McKellar Technology, and Union Success Academy will dismiss at their regularly scheduled time during these days. The early dismissal days for this semester will be Aug. 24, Sept. 21, Oct. 19, and Nov. 16.

Adopt-A-Block

Our Adopt-A-Block program continues to grow! We are thankful for our area faith organizations that have adopted blocks and are making a difference. We are thankful for the Columbus Block Stars that continue to make Columbus a better place, but we need more help! We invite any faith organization in the area interested in adopting a block, please come to our next meeting on August 15 at 6 p.m. at Central Office.

SMART Academy Summer

Our SMART Academy students closed the summer out with a trip to the McWane Science Center in Birmingham, Alabama. Thank you to all the staff and faculty that helped make this year’s SMART Academy a success!

Summer Fun!

Our Falcons Little League camp was a success! Our Columbus High Football staff and high school football players worked with students on conditioning and drills in June. CHS Football Coach Joshua Pulphus said he was excited to see his players grow into mentors and was happy to see the young, Falcon talent brewing in Columbus.

Lemonade Day

Lemonade Day was sweet! We have several entrepreneurs who spent their summer learning about the world of business at our SMART Academy. Our entrepreneurship class taught students the fundamentals of owning a business, saving money, spending money, customer service and so much more. As a final project, our students put their skills to the test by hosting their own lemonade stand at Columbus Middle School.
