The Team at Action for Development takes this opportunity to wish you a Happy New Year!
We would like to thank you for your continued support towards AfDs activities!
We look forward to 2020 and to continue helping the people of Afghanistan!

Action for Development held its annual staff retreat at CAGI on December 10th. H.E. Ambassador Nasir Ahmad Andisha joined the final session of the retreat, expressing his continued support towards AfD's strategy for humanitarian action in Afghanistan for the year 2020.

In line with AfD's vision of "Healthy Families, Empowered Communities", the organization's mission statement is to fight poverty, reduce child and maternal mortality, ensure access to education to promote equal opportunities for all.
Action for Development provides training for midwives in the Kapisa Province. From 7th to 13th December, AfD provided training to 20 midwives selected in the province of Kapisa; following our cascade-model approach, these midwives will train an additional number of midwives in their communities, for an estimated total of 100 midwives trained in the province by the end of the year. The training includes a two-day residency at the provincial hospital of Kapisa and it is officially recognized by the Ministry of Public Health of Afghanistan.
Kabul, Kapisa and Parwan Provinces
From mid-November 2019 through January 2020
Action for Development, with the support of the Stanley Thomas Johnson Stiftung Foundation and the Municipality of Bernex, distributes heaters, coal and wood to individuals and families in need, to withstand the harsh temperatures and weather conditions of the winter months.
This photo portrays one family of IDPs that received coal as part of the winterization campaign.
Among the beneficiaries of the winterization project were the families of about 200 children attending AfD's schools in Kabul.
As part of the winterization project, Action for Development also distributed additional items, like shoes and coats, to children attending our schools.
