House Fire in Neartown - Montrose

Firefighters arrived on scene to find a small fire on an attached porch at the rear of a home. The fire appeared to have been caused by an awning making contact with power lines and arcing, causing the awning and then decking to catch fire. The fire was extinguished and the power company was contacted to make sure the power lines were safe. Crews from Stations 7, 6, 8, 16 and 24 responded to this incident.
