Dear <<First Name>>,
As our world navigates a global pandemic and a major social justice movement, the health of our environment is absolutely paramount and our mission at Seaside Sustainability is as important as ever. At Seaside, we’re focused on keeping our teams safe while still doing what we can to make a difference. Plastic Free July seems to come at the perfect time as we witness an influx of single-use plastic pollution as a result of the pandemic. Plastic Free July is an annual global movement that educates people on how they can get involved in the solution to plastic pollution, and this is an awesome resource to learn more about it!
In the spirit of Plastic Free living, I want to send a huge shoutout to the more than 100 of you who participated in our panel discussion on The Story of Plastic documentary last month. We hosted four expert panelists who shared their insights on the systemic issues around plastic production, why recycling isn’t as effective as you think, and much more. Don’t worry if you missed it - you can watch the entire discussion on our new YouTube channel and check out this write-up from The Gloucester Daily Times (Local nonprofit concerned about plastic in time of COVID-19).
The coming weeks are abuzz with new happenings, including Seaside’s first-ever art auction, kicking off a series of (safely distanced!) monthly beach clean-ups and in just a couple weeks, a fresh, new website. Read on for more!
Until next time, be safe, be well, and stay passionate about our planet!
Eric Magers, Executive Director
