What's happening around Bristol Spaceworks this autumn?

Exciting redevelopment at Easton Business Centre

We’re pleased to have been granted planning permission to redevelop the area outside Easton Business Centre, making the entrance more inviting for tenants and visitors.

You can see an artist's impression of the design below.
The new plans include additional bike storage, with a long sheltered bike shed at the rear of the building to accommodate our increasing number of cyclists. At the front, there will be a paved landscaped area with screening, outdoor furniture and desk pods for al-fresco lunches and meetings. The area will also be floodlit to help on darker evenings.

Work is due to start in the coming months.

Thank you to Easton-based Studio Yaqub for doing a great job on the design and Nelson Developments from Easton Business Centre who will be turning our vision into reality.

If you have any questions about the plans, please get in touch at info@bristolspaceworks.co.uk.

In Focus: Transforming Marine Management in Madagascar

Our In Focus series shines a light on some of the businesses operating from our centres to introduce their teams and share some recent projects.

This month, we caught up with Steve Mundey, Digital Manager at Blue Ventures, who is based at The Old Library.

Blue Ventures works with some of the poorest coastal communities in the tropics to help them generate a more consistent and sustainable income from fisheries.

Extensions afoot at St. Bonaventure's

Our popular business centre in Bishopston, St Bonaventure’s, is about to be doubled in size as the rear of the building is developed to create eight new offices. Opened two years ago, the business centre currently has seven fully furnished offices, as well as a small kitchen and meeting room.

Popular for its proximity to Gloucester Road and transport links to the city, the site was redeveloped following a crowdfunding appeal by parish priest, Fr. Tom Smith, whose parishioners financed the transformation of the old social club into a modern business centre.

Bristol Spaceworks has managed the centre since 2017 and phase 2 will expand capacity on the site to offer further offices and meeting space.

Fantastic support for Macmillan's Coffee Morning

Many thanks to all of you who came to support the Macmillan Coffee Morning at Easton Business Centre and enjoy the delicious array of cakes and goodies. We raised an impressive £236 for Macmillan!

Special thanks to Carol and Jacqui Cunningham for hosting and promoting the event, and all of you who contributed time and cakes to make the morning such a success.

These events not only raise valuable funds for good causes, they’re a great way to take a few moments out of your day to meet other businesses in the building.

If you’re considering hosting your own charity morning tea, please let us know!
