Developing generative spiritual leaders who influence their communities for Christ.

Where the River is Flowing

We just completed End of Year Reports which can feel like an institutional hurdle that takes us away from the real work of ministry, but through this year's reports a theme is emerging - our congregations in the words of Rev. Bill Curington are "going to where the river is flowing." From smaller churches led by part-time local pastors to larger churches with multiple clergy staff, churches across the Central East District are following the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and transforming lives, families, and communities through their selfless acts of love and generosity. Regardless of size or resources, our congregations are stepping into the river of God's grace bringing hope to the hopeless, comfort to the brokenhearted, and relationship to the lonely. Yes, everything has been disrupted and the future is uncertain, but "there is a river whose streams make glad the city of God" and we can go there and dive right in.
