New ACB website

Since last week we updated our website from one-pager to multi-pager. A new lay out and face lift gives us the opportunity to give you a more transparent overview on events, news facts and working groups. Members also have the possibility to log in and have access to reports, latest air freight developments and calendar concerning our working groups. Mails concluding instructions and log in details will follow soon.

Working group in spotlight: INNOVATION

Our innovation working group, chaired by Goedele Sannen (Voka), challenges our ACB partners and working groups to think out of the box in their projects and plans. Therefore we try to provide and stimulate external inputs from our stakeholders. To trigger innovation in our fast changing cargo environment, Air Cargo Belgium is about to launch an innovation survey, which you may expect rather soon in order to map the innovation possibilities within BRUcargo.

IATA AirPharma Conference

On the 11th & 12th of October Air Cargo Belgium was present at the 1st IATA AirPharma Conference which was held at Brussels. Keynote speakers, panel discussions, round table speed datings and networking breaks composed the ideal conference from everyone within the AirPharma compartment. Nathan De Valck from Brussels Airport Company was one of the fascinating speakers. See you next year, AirPharma Conference!

ACB involved with American lobsters

Belgium doesn’t support putting Canadian lobsters on the invasive species list, which is an initiative by UK and Sweden. This is a danger for the further air cargo industry in Belgium if these lobsters would be banned. Air Cargo Belgium has already made a statement by asking the Flemish and European authorities to not ban the lobsters. We can proudly say that the lobbying was concluded successfully

Reminder Cargo Talks

On November 8th we are very pleased to present you the international renowned technology entrepreneur, lecturer and author, Peter Hinssen, who will be Keynote speaker on our very first Cargo Talks event. Mister Hinssen will talk about two of his books ‘The New Normal’ and ‘The Network always wins’. The gathering will start at 18h and takes place at Cargo M, the ground floor restaurant of the BRUcargo building. We are looking forward to host you at our event and greatly appreciate your attendance. For subscriptions, go to our website: www.aircargobelgium.be

ACB supports Flanders Pharma Hub Cluster

Within the strategy about the development of BRUcargo, the air freight airport of Brussels Airport, pharma transport is a big influencing factor. Pharma transport by air crafts is increasing significantly and has a higher added value so that attracting additional pharma freight is clearly on the agenda. To gain reliable service contracts and to make sure temperature sensitive shipments are treated correctly, it’s essential for all partners within the logistic chain to work together. The ‘weakest link’ in the chain defines the delivered quality. A decent cooperation within the cluster will lead to an effective collaboration, which is required to guarantee the competitivity of the BRUcargo community and Brussels Airport. The leading partners are Air Cargo Belgium, Brussels Airport and Voka Vlaams-Brabant. Within Air Cargo Belgium a working group is established whereby companies and organisations foresee the necessary resources and work force to bring all initiatives and projects of the cluster and Air Cargo Belgium to a good end.
