Last month, I started teaching creative writing. It's been more fun than I could have imagined. Yesterday, I stood in front of a room of 50 comatose college students and got them to write.
At my weekly writing workshop, a nine year old kid caught the writing bug from his mom, one of my students. Sam came to class with a story about robot sharks who wear pajamas to bed and eat toast with Nutella and bacon for breakfast.
I'm holding onto these bright notes as I wait for the outcome of the US midterm elections. There's not much more we can do on this side of the pond. Ballots have to go out now in order to be counted. I've got one last round tonight at the voter assistance desk and that will be it for me and this election cycle.
Will any of it make a difference? So much energy being invested in canvassing and phonebanking, postcards and lawn signs. This week's blog post, Little by Little, is about my hope for a big blue wave.
I voted. Will you?
