This week's news from:
I once worked with a fellow who had a bit of a foot fetish. And since I had quite the shoe collection, he would regularly comment on the day's choice. His favorite, as I recall, was a pair of red snakeskin leather boots with six inch heels.
My days of teetering around on stilettos are long gone. Almost as long ago as the time when lotus shoes like the ones pictured above were still in fashion. But shoes remain near and dear to my heart. Hence the title for this week's blog post: Kitten Heels.
Kitten Heels, of course, has nothing to do with fashion. It's about reinventing yourself at the ripe old age of 52. Apparently there's a market for this kind of inspirational stuff since this article was first published by Fiftiness, an online platform that defines itself as "fiftēnəs / noun, the quality of women living a fearless life after fifty."
Online is where I've been hanging out the past few days. Working on my author pages at Amazon and Goodreads. Hunting down new venues where I might be able to submit a short story or essay. Reading some pretty serious literature, good enough to warrant a book review of two online journals entitled: Electric Literature.
Friends in Amsterdam are starting to come forward with requests to meet with their book clubs. Woo hoo! If you're feeling the need for some live entertainment at your next book club meeting, let me know!
Next week, you'll hear a little more about bound feet. Can you wait until then?
