The Dancing Girl and the Turtle: publication date 01.04.2017

I almost didn't write a blog this week. There's something about a funeral that leaves a hole behind. It's not fatigue or sorrow, though there is that, too. It's hard to get excited about anything. Especially my own self-imposed deadlines.

But I overcame my slothful moment. This week's blog post is about an amazing artist, Maya Lin. She's best known for her design of the Vietnam Memorial at the tender age of 21. Lin has since gone on to design memorials (physical and virtual) and make art including one of my favorite kinds, land art. Here's my profile of Lin and her work in Mirror, Mirror.

My next deadline this week, a real one this time, is the Spring Reading of the International Writers' Collective. 7 of us will be reading, students and faculty, this Friday night, April 20, at Boekhandel van Rossum. Please come!

P.s. Photo credit this time goes to my lovely sister-in-law Léone for this lovely springtime bouquet.
