This week’s issue focuses on the role telehealth plays in caregiving. November is National Family Caregiver's Month, a time to recognize caregivers and continue to advocate for the support they need to care for loved ones.

In the last five years, the number of family caregivers in the US has increased by 9.5 million. The coronavirus pandemic has not only contributed to the increasing number of caregivers, but also has increased the number of people providing care from home. 28% of current caregivers used to employ someone to provide in-home care but have canceled it due to COVID-19, and 41% said they have a less favorable opinion of nursing homes due to the pandemic.

As the number of at-home caregivers increases, telehealth's role as a form of care is even more important. Read more about the value of telehealth for caregivers, and how technology needs to continue evolving to better meet the needs of all parties involved in the caregiving process.
