Valentine’s Day = Happy Anniversary To Us!

On February 14th, we’ll celebrate the eighth anniversary of our first meal packed as Meals From The Heart! It’s very fitting that each year the celebration of this milestone should fall on Valentine’s Day because this special day reminds us that “HEART” is more than just part of our name; it’s what drives us to spread joy and love through our programs all year long. We also want to thank all of the people and organizations that help make our mission of providing respectful meals to families possible!

Big Heart Club Fills More Than Hearts!

In honor of the season, we’re putting a special spotlight on LOVE. So, here’s a little love for our BIG HEART CLUB members who share their love all year long to help their neighbors keep healthy food on their tables. So what does it take to join the Big Heart Club? That’s easy! You are automatically part of this exceptional club if you make a donation of any size to help individuals, families, seniors, and children in need. And it’s easy to join. At Meals From The Heart, we’re always looking for new ways to help people help their neighbors in need. Our PARTY PACK meal-packing events, designed especially for smaller groups, are a fun and affordable way to help keep local food shelves stocked with tasty and nutritional meals. You provide the occasion, and we’ll make it a party! So grab a group of family members, friends, neighbors, or coworkers and get packin’! We’re all set up to create a fun meal-packing experience right at our location for parties of 6 to 30. Learn more about our PARTY PACK.

Volunteer Spotlight: Wayne's And Ken's World!

At the heart of what makes Meals From The Heart a truly unique and incredible organization are the hearts that keep the good work flowing. And you’d be hard-pressed to find bigger hearts than the ones beating inside Wayne and Ken. Ken Hanson and Wayne Pepin have been volunteering with Meals From The Heart almost from day one. From coaching meal-packing teams and lugging 50-pound bags of rice to loading trucks and delivering bags of food throughout the community, their busy hands are matched only by their massive hearts and warm smiles. Grace Cebulla, a service coordinator for Canvas Health, sums it up nicely. “I feel prideful knowing that residents can save money while obtaining healthy, home-delivered food from Meals From the Heart. Many residents worry about paying bills or driving due to age, disability, income, and other factors. By signing up for Meals From the Heart FOOD BOXES, they can get high-quality food without having to compromise access to other necessities that already take up their budget.”

As Food Costs Soar, So Does The Need!

Record rates of inflation are putting families already at risk in an even tougher situation. And to pile on, the difficult choices – from covering rising food costs and a safe place to live to medical and everyday living expenses – are exacerbated by the frigid weather and continuing restrictions brought on by the lingering pandemic. Thanks to you, your donations not only help keep food shelves stocked, they also put food directly on people’s tables through our FOOD BOX program.

Our staff and volunteers meet many individuals who receive our meals and food boxes (and bags). We directly feel their anxiety and experience their profound gratitude. We also see their hope and optimism that tomorrow will be a better day. Thanks you for helping us help them.
