Dear services and providers

We would like to remind you that all staff who live or work in the 12 LGAs of concern will be required to have one dose of vaccine by 6 September and their second dose by 8 November. Priority Pfizer vaccination appointments are still available for staff in LGAs of concern.

In addition, the NSW Government has advised that all remaining early childhood educators are required to have received two doses of COVID-19 vaccination by 8 November to ensure the health and safety of our early childhood education and care community. We have been working with NSW Health to ensure priority access to vaccinations for educators and outline details in this email.

Updated vaccination information

We have received many questions about vaccination requirements and we appreciate this may be a concerning topic for some staff. It is important to have respectful conversations with colleagues and understand that we all have different personal circumstances.

Staff members who have not received mandated COVID-19 vaccinations by the above dates and are who unable to obtain a medical exemption from their doctor will not be able to attend early childhood education and care settings.

The best protection from COVID-19 is vaccination and the department urges all educators to get vaccinated in line with the current health advice.

We will keep the FAQs updated on our website to help services understand the requirements.
