The Parent Connection is a bi-weekly collection of dates and deadlines, events and short profiles, and insights into McCallie-speak, trivia, and traditions. Our goal is to help busy parents manage McCallie information and learn about the McCallie community. Parents will not necessarily find information here that McCallie expects your son to keep up with and act upon because developing his sense of agency and self-management is an important part of his education. This newsletter will be archived on the Parents page of the website for easy reference.

What is TEPs?

TEPs is a sophomore leadership organization named for longtime McCallie teacher Thomas Edward Peck (T.E.P.) Woods. Dr. Woods taught Latin, Greek and Bible courses from 1921 until 1948. Pictured are the current members of TEPs for the class of 2024.

Members of TEPs participate in a number of service projects throughout the year, which are funded by TEPs days in which students can forgo their usual uniform dress shirts, ties and khaki pants. Parents will receive more information about how their sons can participate in upcoming TEPs dress-down days.
Over the course of the summer, the McCallie Summer Camps office has been busy! Here are the stats:
  • 9 weeks
  • 24 camps
  • 2,361 campers
  • 197 students and young alumni served as counselors and lifeguards
Several of our day camp counselors jumped off the tower to mark their final day of camp!
