Gallery Kendra Jayne Patrick will begin the fall art season with four solo shows at 9 Herkimer Place. Collectively called Four as One and Three, the exhibitions will entirely occupy the site’s single, commodious exhibition room. Together, they will constellate an experimental curatorial arrangement that permits the audience to comprehend the objectives of one artist through the methodologies of the next. 




 


Lap-See Lam & Wingyee Wu will present an exhibition called Mother’s Tongue. Lap-See Lam (Stockholm, b. 1990) holds a BFA from The Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm. In 2017 she was the recipient of the Maria Bonnier Dahlin Foundation Award. She has exhibited in Bonniers Konsthall, Stockholm (2018); Erik Nordenhake, Stockholm (2018); L’Ascensore, Palermo (2017); CSAV Fondazione Ratti, Como (2016). Wingyee Wu (Stockholm, b. 1976) is a film writer and director, with an MFA from Tisch School of the Arts, New York. Their collaborative work, “Mother’s Tongue,” is part of the collection of the Swedish Museum of Modern Art, the Moderna Museet; the institution will be exhibiting the work this fall from 10/9/18-1/6/18. 

Joshua Citarella will present an exhibition called SWIM. Citarella (New York City, b. 1987) is an artist working with both sculptural materials and software. He earned his BFA from the School of Visual Arts in 2010. Recent solo exhibitions include “Ultraviolet Production House: Showroom,” Bahamas Biennale, Detroit (2017) and “Planetary-scale Computation,” Carroll/Fletcher, London (2016). His work was also included in the recent group exhibitions “Alt-Facts,” Postmasters Gallery, New York (2017) and “Inside Out Upside Down,” The Photographer’s Gallery, London (2016). Citarella lives and works in New York City.

Anu Vahtra will present an exhibition called On Display. Vahtra (Tallinn, b. 1982) studied photography at the Estonian Academy of Arts in Tallinn and the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam. She has participated in numerous group exhibitions internationally, and has had solo exhibitions in New York, Amsterdam, Cologne, Brussels, Prague, Budapest, and Tallinn. Vahtra has been nominated for Kristjan Raud Prize (2015) and Sadolin Art Prize (2014), in 2015 she won the Köler Prize 2015 grand prix and in 2017 received the Annual Award of the Cultural Endowment of Estonia’s Foundation for Fine and Applied Arts. In 2017 Vahtra was an artist in residence at the International Studio and Curatorial Programme (ISCP) in New York where she produced a new performance piece for Performa 17 Biennial.

Tatiana Kronberg will present an exhibition called Ball Lightning. Kronberg’s recent solo exhibitions include Adds Donna, Chicago; Essex Flowers, New York; and JOAN, Los Angeles. Her work has also been exhibited at Artists Space, New York; Fondation Ricard, Paris; International Center of Photography, New York; Motel, New York; Roulette Intermedium, New York. She holds an MFA from Bard / ICP in Advanced Photographic Studies. Kronberg was born in St. Petersburg, Russia.  

Open by-appointment, and Sundays from 12-6pm.
