Alumni and the University of Manitoba community are invited to join us in festivities on Tuesday, Feb. 28, honouring the university’s 140th anniversary. All are invited to lunch at noon, followed by a formal outdoor ceremony on the steps of the Administration Building, including fireworks and an ice show by the Intrepid Ice Team. Food trucks will be on site in the afternoon, a skating rink will be open, and winter activities will take place around the Quad until 4:30 p.m. This is an opportunity to honour our past, present, and future, as well as recognize Canada’s 150th birthday. ”Our theme for this anniversary year is identity, and it prompts us to explore important questions about who we are, both as a university and as individuals,” said President and Vice-Chancellor David Barnard.
