ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Mr. Aaron Laws had recently received a lifesaving transplant and was ready to celebrate Thanksgiving last fall. That morning, he suddenly stopped breathing in front of his wife, LaTonya.  She started chest compressions and called 9-1-1.  Mrs. Laws continued CPR with help from the 9-1-1 calltaker.

HFD EMTs and paramedics rushed to the scene. Within minutes, members from Stations 83 and 69, C and D shift, worked on Mr. Laws. They continued CPR and advanced life support until he regained a pulse. He was transported to a local hospital and recovered from the cardiac arrest.

Many of the HFD members who worked on him were not sure if he pulled through and were thrilled to hear that Aaron Laws and his family will come by the fire station to say “thanks” for saving his life last Thanksgiving.
