HFD's newest high water vehicles have been strategically assigned to fire stations around Houston. High water evacuation vehicles are heavy duty apparatus capable of operating in floodwaters. These 6 x 6 military grade vehicles are designed to transport citizens, supplies, or personnel to collection points.
The four additional Highwater vehicles have been assigned to:
HFD station # 21 located at 10515 Main St.
HFD station #45 located at 4910 N. McCarty Dr.
HFD station #71 located at 15200 Space Center Blvd.
HFD station #102 located at 4102 W. Lake Houston Parkway
These are in addition to HWV's stationed at:
HFD station #78 located at 15100 Memorial Dr.
HFD Station #5 located at 2020 Hollister Street
HFD Station #37 7026 located at Stella Link Road (being outfitted)
HFD Station #58 located at 10413 Fulton Street
Houston firefighters from Station #78 will be training in a high-water vehicle ahead of increased chances for heavy rainfall.
