ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Here soon we will have some relief with our frontline apparatus with the introduction of 4 pumpers this month and 4 more pumpers in March.  The arrival this month is due to recent cooperative process approved by the Mayor and aggressive action by the City’s Strategic Purchasing Division, assisting in expediting the purchase and delivery. Training for the new apparatus is scheduled for the beginning of January. Following training these apparatuses are to be assigned to Station 46, 28, 51 and 67. The decision of assignment was based on call volume, age of current apparatus and annual maintenance cost.

The four apparatuses arriving this month are Spartan Pumpers and are arriving fully equipped with hoses, tools, MDTs and added safety features. These safety features include intercom headset communication system/ hearing protection, backup camera with microphone transmitting sound to the E.O., full curtain side airbags, antitheft door locks system and in cab tool brackets.

The four apparatuses currently assigned to the selected station will be pulled off the line and placed in a Ready Reserve Fleet.
