Spring beginnings

It's only the beginning of March but already it's been a busy month.

And there's lots more ahead for this month. I have new work to share with you and some more pieces in progress that I'm hoping to get back to soon!

Latest Work - 'Enigma'

My latest piece 'Enigma' was finished last night. It started as a simple experiment in Procreate, trying out some new brushes and experimenting with a simple sketch that I had lying around and became a full-blown finished piece to be added to my ongoing Seraphim project

The Sky King
Another Art Nouveau inspired piece is sitting on my computer, waiting to be finished. This is currently sketched in Photoshop, I may print the outlines and create either a gouache or watercolour painting for more of a traditional feel! I'm yet to decide! I hope to get back to this piece soon.
Keep track of this piece on my Facebook page here.
Llama Totem
The approaching spring weather inspires me to create colourful and optimistic pieces (not that that is unusual with my work) and it's fair to say that Llama Totem is as fun as they get. I just had so much fun working on this piece creating shining fur and fluffy pom-poms. You can view him on my website, order hand-embellished prints or snap up the original on my shop!
The Cruel Prince Enamel Pin
Another fun creation for subscription box Wick & Fable, this enamel pin was inspired by Holly Black's books 'The Cruel Prince' and 'The Wicked King' and was sent out to all subscribers in January. It was a nice change of pace to create something with a more restricted colour palette.

Included in the January subscription box from Wick & Fable was this lovely depiction of the magical entrance to 'Elfhame'. When I was asked whether I could create a magical illustration to a fairy world I of course jumped at the chance! The final piece was printed on a wooden print to be included in the box.

Orison in progress
I discovered this beautiful word 'Orison' recently which is an old word for 'prayer' and I felt it was a suitable name for this new piece I have in progress at the moment. I haven't had a chance to get back to it yet, but it won't be long until it's finished. Keep an eye out for this piece progressing on my various social media channels which you can find at the bottom of this newsletter!
That's all for this month! More soon!
