Welcome – Bienvenido – Bienvenue

With the first quarter of 2023 coming to an end, we already have lots to share with you: On International Women’s day we launched our Call to Action  demanding that donors and decision-makers shift power and resources to adolescent girls and young feminist-led organisations. We also launched our very own Adolescent Girls Advisory Committee (AGAC) which will see us continue to create spaces for adolescent girls to have power in decision making within our coalition. Finally, we are looking to grow our membership in the upcoming months - more details below.

This newsletter includes how we aim to realise our plans, a pre-view to our engagement at the Women Deliver Conference, and a specific call for research and youth-led organisations looking to join our vibrant coalition.

In solidarity,

The Adolescent Girls Investment Plan (AGIP)

French and Spanish translationsare now accessible. We will continue to work on making these available in our newsletter format – please bear with us whilst we grow our skills in this area.

Our engagement with Women Deliver 2023

Following the publication of our  Investing in Adolescent Girls: mapping global and national funding patterns from 2016-2020’ report, conducted by our research member Gender and Adolescence Global Evidence (GAGE),  we invite you to  join us for the report launch event on 29th March. The report launch will be a part of the Women Deliver Global Dialogues.  We will share key research findings and hear from industry peers and partners on how the report can help advocacy and research efforts. The launch will pave way for conversations on how funding can be increased and made accessible to adolescent girls programming ahead of WD2023.

In addition, both our concurrent event applications for Women Deliver 2023 have been successful.  We look forward to advancing accountability and resourcing for adolescent girls at the conference - read our Call to Action for more details! We also participate in the planning of WD2023 as part ofthe official WD2023 Advisory Group and by hosting the Safeguarding Working Group.

We launched our Adolescent Girls Advisory Committee!

We are excited to share that we have completed the selection process of candidates for AGIP’s first ever Adolescent Girls Advisory Committee (AGAC). We received a whooping 650+ applications that were screened in three phases. The final rounds of screening involved a review of the top 114 anonymised applications by a screening panel of three AGIP members. As a result, 8 adolescent girls aged 10-19 and 4 young women aged 20-24 have been selected to join the AGAC.

An introductory call took place on 18 March 2022, and we can’t wait for the AGAC to introduce themselves in the months to come.

If this sounds exciting and you want to exchange experiences, or even explore how you can involve adolescent girls in your decision-making processes, then please get in touch!
