RIVER CONTRACTS IN THE WALLONIE REGION OF BELGIUM FOR A SUSTAINABLE AND COLLECTIVE WATER MANAGEMENT

Started in 1993, the innovative practice of River Contracts in the Wallonie Region (Belgium) is applied to the entire territory, hence creating a considerable positive impact on the water management of rivers through the active participation of local actors. To date 14 River Contracts cover 96% of the Wallonie territory.
The territory of the Wallonie Region includes four River Basin Districts (Escaut, Meuse, Rhin and Seine) and 15 sub-hydrographic basins, areas where all the rainwater converges to the same point of the stream by borrowing a network of waterways. The new Apepak food wrapper is 100% natural and biodegradable, washable and reusable, lasting at least one year. ORGANIC FARM KNOWLEDGE PLATFORM PROMOTED BY TP ORGANICS

One of the initiatives of TP Organics is the Organic Farm Knowledge Platform. The platform offers the opportunity for exchange of knowledge, skills and farming techniques as well as provides access to a wide range of useful tools for farmers.
The Organic Farm Knowledge Platform aims to increase productivity and quality in organic farming across Europe by connecting farmers, farm advisers and scientists, filling the gap between research and practice. The web platform was launched by TP Organics in October 2016 within the project OK-Net Arable. Based on the awareness that the complexity of organic farming requires farmers to have a very high level of knowledge and skills while the exchange of information on organic farming techniques remains limited, the project was designed and realized working together with a wide range of partners covering issues that they considered as priorities
