Goodbye 2020, Welcome 2021

It has been a tumultuous year as we had to deal with the effects of social injustice that brought the Black Lives Matter movement, we had to overcome the Covid19 epidemic that not only caused death around the world but led to the closure of many small businesses, and a troubling Presidential election that will hopefully bring a renewed America. These various events occurring in the US and around the world showed us the importance of technology and entrepreneurship, and how spaces like In3DC- virtual or in physical space- are necessary for inclusive growth.

In our case, as we had to close the doors of our physical space on Georgia Avenue, we are luckily equipped to move all our programming online to continue our work with the underserved and underrepresented communities.

Inclusive Innovation Incubator (In3DC) plans an exciting year ahead as there are Inclusive Innovation Labs, programming courses, and a few special events.

In 2018, there were about 65 Black-owned co-working spaces in urban districts from coast to coast, one-third of which have permanently closed in 2020 due to the pandemic’s economic devastation. tpInsights

Capital One Grant

Many businesses have been impacted by Covid19 and retailers are suffering as reported that "800 small businesses a day are closing across the country." We are proud to be recipients of a Capital One Grant to implement our Inclusive Innovation Labs (IIL) designed for 20 already existing businesses through retailers with a minimum of 3 years of operations will be given priority in the selection process. The IIL is designed to support redefining the business models based on current realities and the use of technology to increase sales. The application will be open next week and will close on January 15th, 2021.
