November 2020
Midweek Escapes

Hi everyone.  Happy November.  Is anyone participating in Nanowrimo this year?  I decided not to.  Honestly, I haven't gotten much personal writing done this year at all, regardless of being on lockdown for awhile in spring.  I couldn't find the inspiration.  But, a curious thing happened in the seasons began to change.  As it got cooler here in HOT Las Vegas, I started finding bits of inspiration to spur me along.  Hopefully the words will start coming out again.  It's such a  terrible feeling to be stuck.  The good news is that in the mean time, I have purged a lot of meaningless "things" from my life.  And, another good thing is that I have found some amazing things in thrift stores (my little hobby is purusing thrift stores) that other people have purged. So, it's a win, win!  I've gotten really lucky a few times with thrift store items I've been able to resell on Ebay for a few hundred dollars.  My favorite thrift store find is a first edition Stephen King Carrie book.  I'm not selling it though.  They gave it to me for 25cents!

Have you been purging your life of unnecessary things?  Have you found any amazing treasures at thrift stores or garage sales?

CONTEST :

What is the coolest, funkiest, or silliest treasure you have found while thrifting, or at a garage sale? Reply to this and let me know. I will pick two random winners for a copy of my classic Vegas love story, "An Unexpected Knight."
Watch your email for a message from me.

Last month's winners were:
Angela K. (with a very unforgettable costume!)
Meredith B. (with a costume gone wrong, turned right)
Available Now!

Sarah never expected to see Kyle again, let alone to have to work with him.

Kyle became a knight, not guessing “the one that got away” would be the one he’d rely on each evening.

But magic can still happen in King Arthur’s arena.

* Please note: Life happens. It's been rare that I've had an author cancel, but it has happened because of illness. So, the schedule may vary (hopefully not!).

PSST!  Hey, you.  Are you an author?  Do you know an author? I'm looking for guests for the Midweek Escapes blog.  Reply to this message or email me at KayPhoenix@yahoo.com to inquire about scheduling for 2019.  I'm looking forward to hearing about your adventures AND, of course, YOUR BOOKS!

Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
