Professor Emeritus Lowry Burgess, 1940-2020

Professor Emeritus Lowry Burgess, former dean of the College of Fine Arts, passed away Tuesday, January 28, at his home in Melbourne, Florida. For nearly half a century, Burgess had been a cornerstone of Carnegie Mellon University’s School of Art. read more

Internationally-Renowned Public Works Artist Jaume Plensa Gives a Free Lecture Tonight!

One of the most important public sculptors working today, Spanish artist Jaume Plensa's works have been installed around the globe including at Rockefeller Center in New York City, Bonaventure Gateway in Montreal, Millennium Park in Chicago, BBC Broadcasting Tower in London, and Shanghai IFC Mall, among many, many others. He will give a lecture at 6:30pm in McConomy Auditorium in the University Center. read more
