Membership renewals

A reminder that membership renewals are due at the start of each calendar year. It is great to see over 70% of CLOK members have already rejoined for the new year, despite the lack of regular orienteering events at present - clearly a sign of confidence that things will return in the not too distant future (or that you have direct debits set up to renew for you without you having to lift a finger!). To those who haven't yet rejoined, we'd love to have you back! It is easy to rejoin - just go to the British Orienteering website, login (if you can't remember your login details you can get a reminder), and go to My Account and Renew your Membership. There are plenty of benefits of being a member, including lower entry fees at many events (and major events you must be a member to enter), keeping informed of club events and activities through Tchimes, proudly wearing our club kit at events, getting the most out of the sport through volunteering at events, and being part of the club atmosphere at bigger competitions like the Scottish 6 Days this summer. Any membership questions, speak to our membership secretary, Graeme Addison (email).

Club and Schools Development Officer adverts

Don't forget our open positions for both a new Club Development Officer (CDO) and a Schools Development Officer (SDO). You can find all the details in the adverts on the website here. The closing date is Sunday 28th February.

If filled with the right people, these positions will be of huge benefit to the club. The CDO will help us grow and increase our membership and participation, particularly with the "next generation" including young families, while the SDO has potential to offer orienteering to thousands of schools kids while also making a surplus for the club to do even more. Maybe you are interested in one of the positions yourself? If not, maybe you can think of someone else who would be? They don't necessarily have to be an orienteer, if they have a passion for clubs and sports development. So get your thinking caps on, and see if you can encourage a friend to apply! All the details are at the link above.
