Will Not Return Void
God tells Isaiah, “My word…shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please.” (Isa. 55:11a). Recently, we were reminded of the power of God’s Word. I (Ben) have been preaching about the miracles of Christ through Matthew’s gospel at the Throne Baptist Church plant in Kaohsiung. After the conclusion of the sermon, “Calming the Storm,” a Taiwanese man shared with me the following account of the Spirit’s work in his heart:
“When I saw the title for today’s sermon I was shocked, because I have had a raging storm in my soul this week…when you were preaching today, it was like God took a bow and shot an arrow right into my heart.”
And another Taiwanese man sent a message saying, “I want to say thank you to guys. Every week I am facing different difficulties. These sermons feed and comfort my soul, and calm my worries. Every sermon, I feel it’s like God delivers his word to me…”
We give God all the praise and glory for the accomplishments of the Word at work in peoples’ lives!
After living in Taiwan over a year now, Natasha has developed new food sensitivities that cause a myriad of health challenges. Natasha is currently living by an even more strict diet than before in order to mitigate frequent joint pain and fatigue. After some testing, she is still undiagnosed. She still experiences symptoms, but the doctors don’t know why yet.
As we wait on the Lord for answers to health problems, we will continue to seek all available expert medical advice here in Taiwan. Currently, there are no urgent medical needs, and Natasha is able to manage some of her symptoms through her special diet — there is a long list of common ingredients she must avoid. We ask for prayer for health solutions and answers to the medical mysteries that surround us at this time.
