ED2 Successes
In the lull before Regular Decision university results, four Ivy Options' students received Early Decision 2 acceptances. Congratulations to Isabella Maamari (American University), Rashad Raad (Wake Forest University), Natasha Zaman (Boston University), and Sudhish Sewpaul (Santa Clara University, not pictured).
Early Decision 2 is a great application strategy for students who have a top choice university and want to improve their chances beyond the Regular Decision process. This Forbes magazine article has excellent information on ED2 and the universities and colleges that offer the option. For a full list of Ivy Options' student acceptances, see Class of 2019.
Brainstorming Workshops for the Common App Essay
It's time for juniors to put on those thinking caps and get creative with their writing. Ivy Options will host two Common App Personal Statement workshops: Thursday, March 14, and Thursday, March 21, from 4:00-5:30 p.m. Students will receive tips and strategies for coming up with ideas for and writing this important 650-word essay which is essential for many U.S. and Canadian universities' applications. Clients should sign up for one of the two sessions as soon as possible to get their first choice. Please rsvp to info@ivyoptions.com.
Smart Summer Planning
Students should already have or be actively seeking a productive and enriching summer activity. One company, used by an Ivy Options client, is Summer Discovery, which for a fee helps high school students find internships in over 20 industries. Here are some other top programs still accepting summer applications: Boston University, Brown University. Georgetown University, and University of Pennsylvania.
