April Events at Tiki Underground!
Thursday, April 6 at 6pm: Flowers by Faith at Tiki Underground
GET READY FOR SUMMER!! TU regular Faith Dolson will take over the back room to host a fun night to make hair accessories with beautiful island flowers like hibiscus, calla lily, and orchid. All attendees will have access to the materials needed to make 1-2 accessories at no charge. We will offer happy hour specials from 6-7pm, and serve a complimentary Pu Pu platter for participants to share while you make your creations! While Faith will be giving a general overview at 6pm, participants are welcome to stop by any time between 6-8pm.
Friday, April 7 at 5pm: Inaugural TU Mystery Cocktail Night
Starting on Friday April 7, we will host a bartender’s choice night — let Chris, Randy, or Emerie choose your Mystery Cocktail, also honoring a long standing tiki tradition. For our inaugural evening, Chris will have you covered with something special for our first Mystery Cocktail Night, and that’s one less decision you have to make.
Thursday, April 13 at 6pm: An Evening with Tim Harnett, Guest Mixologist
Our inaugural Guest Mixologist program will kick off with the (in)famous Tim Harnett rocking the rums at TU. Tim will be shaking two special cocktail, the Timm's Cup and Stiv's Tomb - look for more details in the event. Tim has been influential in the NE Ohio cocktail scene for years, and is now dedicated full time to the craft. You will recognize him from Griffin Cider House & Gin Bar, Bar 32 at Hilton Cleveland Downtown, and most recently as part of the opening team for Masthead Brewing Company. As a long time lover of tiki culture, Tim not only has an impressive home bar and tiki mug collection, but he has also taken his talents to the cocktail competition and room crawl at Ohana Luau at the Lake, as well as a various regional events.
Saturday, April 15 at 8pm: The Original Hot Rod Tiki Carver Kevin Moore
Tiki Underground will host the original Hot Rod Tiki Carver Kevin Moore at TU. He will transform a piece of wood right before your eyes into a tiki statue that will become the centerpiece of the TU back room. Join us for this truly unique experience…. we are beyond excited!!
Saturday, April 22 at 8pm: The Real Nitty Gritty Spinning Records at TU
The Real Nitty Gritty is the first of a regular music show by the talented hosts of the WFMU Sunday night program of the same name. If you love vinyl, you have to hear Thomas and Tania take you through killer tunes while you sip a delicious TU cocktail. Don't believe us? Check them out for yourself!
Saturday, April 29: 45 Spider and the Jackals of Botswana
Local fuzz rock band 45 Spider and from Pittsburgh, the Jackals of Botwana – they will blow you away! More details on timing will be posted soon, you won’t want to miss this legendary evening.
