Greetings from our LA studio!

Embodied Labs is getting settled into our office space in Los Angeles where the production team has relocated. We have already begun building connections with collaborators in the area with expertise in sound design, color grading, and music composition. The plethora of interesting VR events and meetups in LA has solidified that this move was invaluable to our production team!

Advisor Spotlight: Dr. Olu Ajilore

Embodied Labs is proud to have Dr. Olusola Ajilore of University of Illinois Chicago as a company advisor! Dr. Ajilore's VR-focused research is centered on two primary directions: 1) developing immersive, interactive data visualization platforms for better understanding brain connectivity alterations associated with neuropsychiatric diseases and 2) developing VR-based interventions for psychiatric disorders informed by understanding these alterations. His department has a platform in beta called NeuroCave, which focuses on body image distortion and lack of insight in patients with eating disorders. Olu is excited to work with Embodied Labs because "...they are at the cutting edge of VR-based educational experiences. They combine sophisticated technology with a deep-seated humanity to create moving, engaging, heartfelt, educational experiences that have a lasting impression on the learners who interact with their platform." Embodied Labs is hoping to collaborate with Dr. Ajilore on a schizophrenia and social anxiety disorders experience in 2018.

Oregon Storyboard & Embodied Labs to Collaborate

This fall, Embodied Labs and Oregon Storyboard will work together to build a co-content creation framework, combining the expertise of both companies to move the VR industry forward. In August, Carrie will travel to Portland to work with OSB's team and the Portland VR development community.

Embodied Labs welcomes UI/UX Lead

Embodied Labs is pleased that Eva Mae Baucom (M.S. Biomedical Visualization) has joined our team. She will be wearing a variety of hats including UI/UX, graphic design, 3D modeling, medical animations, and marketing. In addition to her expertise in communicating information in the health sciences using technology, her family owns a three-room residence for elders in the Sacramento area, giving her a unique perspective on aging and some of the practical applications of Embodied Labs software.

Embodied Labs attends Ed Tech Connect

Eva Mae Baucom, our new UI/UX designer, recently attended Ed Tech Connect in San Francisco at the end of June. The workshop, sponsored by SFVR, focused on connecting educators with innovative technologies. We are excited to see the growing interest and integration of VR in many different schools and grade levels!
