WHAT'S HAPPENING WITH THE COOP
The Anacortes Food Coop offers a wide range of delicious and healthy options.  From visiting families, to weekly shoppers, we offer the best of local goods, unique items, organic produce and convenience.
Even though we have dedicated shoppers, new and inviting layout and great choice of products, we have experienced a downturn in sales.  This is partly due to the post-holiday lull and the cold, cold weather.  However, this is troubling and affects our ability to stay open.  Last year, a benefactor gave us financial support to make ends meet.  We are coming to a point where decisions about our future need your input. We have a committee that is updating our business and strategic plan and we would like members to join this committee, especially if you have any business, financial or marketing experience.  Please email anacortesfoodcoop@gmail.com if you are interested.  There's lots of other ways to volunteer: helping at the store, coming to board meetings, sharing a skill at a workshop or posting Coop info to social media. The most important  way you can help is to keep shopping with the Coop and encouraging others to do so. THANKS!
Laure is one of our members who has been volunteering to call lots of you Coop members.  She has received lots of comments, and will share those at the next board meeting. Great job, Laure!
The Coop is governed by a five-member Board of Directors who represent you. Our next meeting is Monday, February 11 at 6:15 pm at the Anacortes Library Meeting Room.  We encourage members to come, especially as we have difficult financial issues to discuss.  For more information, contact board@anacortesfoodcoop.com
Two and a half years ago Brian Jo, Alex Pitz and Casey Basetich had the dreams and enthusiasm to create the Anacortes Food Coop.  So many of us still strongly hold to that vision and dream.  Let's make it succeed!

COOPERATIVE INITIATIVES
The Anacortes High School Media team stopped by the store and filmed a segment for the high school news channel.  They featured three local businesses and we feel honored they interviewed us.  You should be able to see it on YouTube after its Thursday airing.
