WHAT'S HAPPENING WITH THE COOP

HAPPY FALL EQUINOX!
The weather is cooling off which is keeping the store temperature a lot more pleasant.  Thanks for your patience during the heat of the summer!
We are conducting a SEPTEMBER MEMBER SURVEY   Please help by filling it out.  It  takes less than 5 minutes. Thanks.
The Coop is governed by a Board of Directors who represent you. We are seeking additional board members.
The next meeting is Sunday, October 6 at 5:30 pm.
AT THE STORE

We are offering salads, sandwiches and wraps to go.  All made with healthy, organic ingredients!

The Coop is always seeking local products. In addition to 3 Sisters meats, you now have the option for Certified Organic burgers and ground beef from Skiyou Ranch.  Located in Sedro-Woolley, they have been sustainably ranching for years.

Heirloom tomatoes are so tasty!  We have beefsteak and cherry tomatoes from Well Fed Farms.

Gaining in popularity is this cream cheese, very tasty and easily digested.

Sweet peppers from Moondance Farm are perfect for grilling, salads or stirfrys.

Local sweet corn on the cob has arrived!

COOPERATIVE INITIATIVES
Reminder about Coop membership:  The board originally set an annual membership fee of $25 per year, which was later limited to just the first four years.  So if you joined in 2016, this year's invoice will be your last and you will be a LIFETIME MEMBER!  Thank you all for your support.
Other ways to help the Coop are paying with cash when you can, paying with debit rather than credit and posting reviews on social media such as Google, Yelp, Facebook etc.
And of course, any increase in shopping or special orders is very welcome.  If you regularly buy eggs or yogurt, please consider adding other items to your visit, such as a bunch of kale, a bag of oatmeal, a can of beans, maybe a healthy treat!
COMMUNITY NEWS

Friday, Sept. 27:  Students at Anacortes High School will hold a climate action from 11:30-1 PM. They've asked for support with a rally outside the high school, which is being organized by Extinction Rebellion (XR) Anacortes. Please note that supportive adults are not allowed anywhere on the school property, and should stay on the public sidewalks around the intersection of 19th and K Ave. Note too that there will be no civil disobedience at this event. After the rally, XR encourages people to carpool to Blaine, WA to join the Lummi Nation in their protest of the Trans Mountain Pipeline expansion. We'll gather at 3:30 PM in Blaine in support of the action at 4 PM.
