The Route 7/15 Norwalk Project is in Full Swing!

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is moving forward with gathering input on the best ways to complete connections between Route 7 and the Merritt Parkway, reduce congestion on Main Avenue, and improve safety.

Since kicking off the project in the Fall of 2016, we have begun an environmental documentation process and begun considering potential interchange reconstruction alternatives. Our team is conducting outreach with key stakeholders such as community representatives and local business owners. We are reviewing traffic operations, and are working to ensure that all alternatives are developed with a keen eye towards integrating historic Merritt Parkway design and landscaping features.

We have also held two Project Advisory Committee (PAC) meetings. The presentation and minutes for both meetings are available on the project website ( Our first public scoping meeting will be held this fall – stay tuned for details so you can add your voice!
