Volunteers needed for new Dutch radio show

Dutch Network is looking for enthusiastic, dedicated volunteers who would like to help produce a Dutch radio show.

There once was a daily Dutch radio show on Fairchild Radio, hosted by Anke Dekker. It aired for 17 years and ended in 2010. The show was very popular in the Dutch Community and featured Dutch music, Dutch news, interviews and community information.

Dutch Network would like to produce a new radio show on Vancouver Co-Operative Radio, CFRO 100.5 FM, with volunteer programmers. The aim is to interact with the Dutch Community in the Lower Mainland and provide them with a local show they can call their own.

School for Dutch Language and Culture "De Esdoorn": Survey

The School for Dutch Language and Culture "De Esdoorn" has been offering Dutch language classes for groups and individuals for children aged 4 to 12 years in Vancouver since September 2015.

They would like to expand the school with more students and are looking into setting up an extra location elsewhere in the Lower Mainland. They created a survey to find out what the interests and needs are of parents with respect to the location of the school, expectations of Dutch language learning (spoken and/or written) and tuition fees.

A meeting will be organized in May for those who are interested, to discuss how to continue with the Dutch school in 2017-2018, based on the results of this survey.

The survey is in Dutch and takes about 10-15 minutes. If you are interested in the Dutch school, please take a moment to fill it out.

Thank you very much for your participation!

Upcoming Pub Nights

We are looking forward to seeing you at one (or both!) of our Pub Nights this month:

  • Wednesday, April 5th: Dutch Pub Night in Langley, from 7:30 pm at London Bull Pub at 20090 91A Avenue. Like co-host John once said:

    "A reminder, that's right,
    Wednesday is Langley Pub Night,
    No matter where you are,
You'll have to come by car,
It may be up your alley,
If you happen to live in the valley."

    Proost to that!

  • Wednesday, April 19th: Dutch Pub Night in Vancouver, from 7:30 pm at New Oxford Pub in Yaletown. 1144 Homer Street.

Please confirm your attendance in the Meetup group, via WhatsApp, or by emailing
