This week's news from:
 Shanghai Lady

Lawyers like to get their knickers in a twist over definitions. Even ex-lawyers like me. So this week's article is on the definition of war and its ugly cousin, war crimes. When did the 2nd Sino-Japanese War start and is it over yet? Here it is: War Without End.

On a lighter note, the PR machine for my debut novel is now up and running. As of today, there are fifteen (!) book reviews or author interviews in the works, ranging from national UK newspapers to prominent book bloggers to a very kind academic in Shanghai. There's even a podcast lined up in the series run by the UK non-profit For Books' Sake called A Room of One's Own. Here's a chance for those of you who miss it, to hear once more my mellifluous voice talking about the room I use to write.

Between now and the official launch of The Dancing Girl and the Turtle, you'll be seeing some changes on my website. There will be a temporary landing page where you'll find the latest news on the London sneak preview, when sales will open (April 1), the official launch and any other events that may pop up.

So this is the time for me to mobilize the troops (a/k/a beg for your help). Are any of you book reviewers or bloggers interested in publishing a review, extract or author interview? Do you belong to a book club and are eager to have your entire group read The Dancing Girl and the Turtle? Are you best buddies with a local bookseller who might be talked into stocking my book? Tell me!

If I can amass enough events, I may even come stateside, DT or no DT.

In the meantime, you can catch up on my other articles you might have missed:
The Language of Blood
Pig Knuckle Soup
The Good Immigrant
Through the Looking Glass: An Asian-American Identity
A New Progressive Narrative
